NOVEMBER 30th is GIVING TUESDAY…
Give the Gift of Creativity. Give the Gift of Confidence. Give the Gift of Community.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
At 6th Street Playhouse, we want to make theater education accessible to all of the members of our diverse community. To do that, we need your help. Supporting the Studio provides the opportunity for us to develop and implement programming that allows us to leave the walls of the Playhouse, engaging with our community at a time when we all need it most. It also gives us the opportunity to invite underserved communities into our classrooms and onto our stages here at 6th Street Studio. Please consider supporting our mission to provide quality theatre education to those in our community who need it most. Theater truly does have the power to change lives, and you can be a part of that change with a donation on Giving Tuesday to 6th Street Playhouse.
A Letter from Managing Director and Education Director, Annie Warren Clark:
Dear 6th Street Family,
Now more than ever children need our help and I would like to invite you to be part of the solution. The isolation we all experienced during the pandemic created trauma, especially for our kids. Theatre has the power to heal and during the last few months, I have seen our students thrive at the playhouse with the opportunity to reconnect and be a part of a community. Theater has the power to change lives, and the impact your gift can have on the lives of these children is immeasurable. Here is a perfect example:
“I was impressed at how fully the kids seemed to be engaged in the show’s development, even at this young of an age. This was a magical experience for Kellen, particularly after over a year of quarantine. He really seems to have found his people, as he’s always been a performer and storyteller. He came home physically exhausted, but mentally calm, centered, and joyful. The first night of the show was the greatest night of his life, he told us!”
-Parent of Studio Youth Player, Kellen (age 8)
Our dream at 6th Street Studio is to serve the youth in our community in an impactful way that can truly change their lives, giving them an outlet for connection at a time in their lives when they need it most. We hope to focus especially on those who are underserved and do not have the resources they so desperately need. This dream could become a reality with your help. Your contributions give the gift of creativity, community and confidence, which are priceless gifts that last a lifetime. I humbly ask for your support this Giving Tuesday. No amount is too small to make a difference.”
6th Street Studio is an inclusive space where community, confidence, creativity and character are built. A donation to 6th Street Studio is a donation to our community’s creative heartbeat. Help a child discover their voice, grant a teen the chance to build something they can see on stage, and give your neighbor, your local grocer, or your great aunt a place to play again with your donation to 6th Street Studio!
Your donation to the Education Fund will help with outreach, development, and supplies, including props, building materials, and scripts!
