Here’s a look at the atmosphere our producers like to create (from pre-pandemic times)

Cheryl King - Producer

Hi! I’m Cheryl, and I’ve been producing live events all over the US for most of my show business career. I spent most of my adult life in NYC, where I created and ran my boutique theater, Stage Left Studio, from 2005 – 2015. When NYC got too pricey, I put my stuff in storage in NJ, bought a car (first one in 20 years) and spent a year on the road, deciding where to go next. I ended up in Sonoma County at 6th Street Playhouse. Six months later, the pandemic hit. But we are back in business, and I’ve been given the opportunity to produce shows on the Monroe Stage, much like what I did with Stage Left.

I’ve teamed up with Spence Blank to produce PIANO BAR. We’ll be setting up the theater like a cabaret, with stage-side tables, and a pianist who will sing and accompany those who want to share their love of music and singing. I’m using all the savvy I gained from my years as a solo performing artist, stand-up comic, and theater entrepreneur to make this new venture an exciting destination for locals and tourists in the beautiful North Bay area.

Spence Blank - Associate Producer

Hi! I’m Spence and I love creating moments for people to gather, share stories and make some music together. I was lucky enough to bask in the stardust of New York and all over the US and Europe as a pianist, vocal coach, music director and conductor, worked with some of the world’s most fabulous artists. When I moved back home to San Francisco, I became a regular at Martuni’s and forgot how much I missed the special intimacy of a cabaret lounge with a singer who has a story to tell, a dimly lit room full of drunk strangers-turned-best-friends, and the magic created where all of that comes together.

I now enjoy a beautiful and quiet little life up here in Sonoma County with my fiancé and Frenchie near my wonderful family and lifelong friends. My folks are old hoofers from the variety stage, so I grew up with a mixture of original cast albums, Carole King, Beatles, Aretha, Stevie and all the usual suspects.

The past two years has been a punch to the gut for all of us because of one reason or fifty others, and I don’t know much but I do know that it’s time to open our hearts back up, open our minds back up, open our mouths back up, and “sing out, Louise”! If you’re a longtime singer, showertime amateur, or anytime goodtime gal just there to have a glass of cabernet and enjoy your evening at the cabaret, PIANO BAR at Live@6th Street is for you. Be a part of the cultural renaissance.
