The Board of Directors of 6th Street Playhouse are greatly saddened to learn of the passing of one of our beloved Board members, Jacqueline (Jacque) Scheibel. Jacque joined the Board in 2008 and actively participated in Board activities since then. Jacque consistently brought energy and enthusiasm to her Playhouse involvement. She was incredibly generous and would frequently volunteer to cater events at our theatre. In addition to doing a lot of the purchasing of food for functions, she also did much of the gourmet food preparation. She even brought in her family members to assist.
Several years ago, Jacque started spending more of her time in Maui, and recently had been there most of the time. She continued to stay involved with Playhouse Board meetings and activities remotely. She frequently offered a Maui vacation as an auction item for fundraisers at the Playhouse. Again, her generosity was always very evident.
Prior to her retirement, Jacque managed radiology offices in Santa Rosa. She was able to bring some of her managerial skills to her work with the 6th Street Playhouse Board, and she enthusiastically attended as many performances as possible.
Even though Jacque didn’t perform in plays, she had a bigger-than-life theatricality to her life. Her Easter egg hunts for family and friends were legendary. She had a love of photography and brought her camera with her on trips across the globe—including China, Antarctica, Bhutan, and Africa. She always had a love of exploring new things and embracing nature.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jacque’s daughter Julie, son-in-law Marty, ex-husband Bob as well as her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
You will be greatly missed, Jacque. Your spirit always remained far younger than your years.
