Mackenzie Beth
Oct 28-30, 2021
Director Allie Pratt, Assistant Director Claire Buchignani
A mean girls retelling of this chilling classic written by the Bard himself! In Mackenzie Beth, the Scottish Play, but like in high school, lol, 6th Street’s Teen Players took on this cursed play and made it their own. Macbeth’s clamor for the crown translated to Mackenzie’s desperate need to become popular. The battlefield? A soccer field! Underscored with contemporary music, this Shakespearean tragedy came to new life. Being a famously cursed play, the Teen Players engaged in a nightly post-show ritual to keep their show on the right track! The cast found both humor and tragedy in this wicked play, complete with hipster witches and a ghostly Halloween party!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
October 21-23, 2021
Director Melissa Cunha
The Youth Players of 6th Street Studio were large and in charge in this ensemble-driven tale. Devising their own tech elements, the young actors owned the stage in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Complete with a student-chosen eerie soundtrack and gorgeous period costumes, this haunting story came to life–horse carriage, pumpkin-headed ghoul, and all! Truly a seasonal delight and an absolute joy to witness the creativity, courage, and community our Youth Players shared on stage and off!
