A mean girls retelling of this chilling classic written by the Bard himself. Shakespeare is considered by many to be the olympics of acting! We will be exploring this classic text with a contemporary lens, identifying recurring motifs, imagery, and recontextualizing and devising how this work sits in the modern world. Teens will put to practice the skills they’re learning in their literature classes and embody these centuries-old characters with brand new meaning. A focus on close reading and text analysis, vocal work and diction, as well as classical acting with contemporary techniques. We will adapt this centuries old horror story to fit a contemporary high school, witches and all, just in time for Halloween!
6th Street Playhouse is taking an aggressive step in trying to protect the Actors, Staff, Volunteers and you, our Patrons, by asking for proof of vaccination for anyone over the age of 12. Also, you must be prepared to wear masks throughout the performance and intermission. We hope this is not an inconvenience but should you disagree with our cautious approach , we can issue you a credit, which can be used for future performance tickets, or a refund, when the crisis has abated.
We hope you understand that the health and well being of everyone that works or visits the theater is our greatest priority and your support during these times would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you for your support of our youth programs!
