Bring Your Acting to the Next Level
The 6th Street Studio is proud to collaborate with Stage Left Studio and Cheryl King to bring you a fantastic new acting intensive–Creating Dynamic Monologues!
King’s Monologue Technique class is based on breath and body awareness, phrasing and articulation, and authenticity in behavior and speech. She uses techniques from her nearly 45 years as a performer and director, including improvisation exercises from her work with Gary Austin, founder of the Groundings in LA, and an intuitive body-based technique she developed in her work with Carol Fox Prescott in NYC. Students can anticipate both solo, pair and group exercises and individual focus on monologues for both stage and screen.
About the Instructor: Cheryl King is a writer, director, and actor with more than 40 years of theater experience in NYC and Los Angeles, in addition to other regional theaters. Some notable career credits include her solo show “not a nice girl,” as well as serving as Resident Acting Coach for the long-running daytime drama “All My Children”, from 2007-2010. King is currently the Producing Artistic Director for Way-out Wednesdays at The California Theater in Santa Rosa, CA and teaches improv and writing classes weekly in Petaluma and online.
