Press Democrat: ‘A Chorus Line’ takes the stage at Santa Rosa’s 6th Street Playhouse

Sing, dance and act all at the same time? Sure, nothing to it. Chorus lines do it every day.

Of course, the classic Broadway musical “A Chorus Line” makes it clear just how challenging that can be.

This challenge extends beyond the performers to include everyone behind the scenes. The director, choreographer and music director must collaborate more closely than usual to bring this production to life.

Two of those roles are filled by first-timers at Santa Rosa’s 6th Street Playhouse for their production of “A Chorus Line,” which opens Aug. 29. Lorenzo Alviso, a busy actor who has previously appeared at the playhouse, takes the helm as director while Bay Area dancer Hannah Woolfenden serves as choreographer.
