Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville is a tropical musical break blending the carefree spirit of his hit songs with a fun and heartwarming story.

Set in a run-down Caribbean resort. Tully, a laid-back bartender, meets Rachel, a career-driven woman on vacation with her soon-to-be-married friend, Tammy. Amid romance, comedy, and island adventures, Tully and Rachel navigate their differences, while Tammy finds freedom from her controlling fiancé. As the island’s volcano threatens to erupt, relationships evolve, hearts open, and lives change.

With classic songs like “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Volcano,” and “Margaritaville,” the musical features a vibrant, toe-tapping soundtrack that embodies the joyful escapism of beach life.

Nelson Brown (Tully) In 1977 Judy Ruddy went to a party and met Craig Brown who was playing the new hit song “Margaritaville” on the guitar. Seven years later Nelson Brown was born, and raised on Jimmy Buffett music. He could not be more honored to be performing these songs today. Previously at 6th Street Nelson has played Phil Connors in Groundhog Day and Nick Bottom in Something Rotten. Other favorite roles include Roger in RENT and Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show both with MMTC and Rat in The Wind in The Willows at Spreckels. Bubbles up!

Jeffrie Givens (Marley) is happy to return to 6th Street Playhouse after making her debut earlier this year in Groundhog Day. Some of her favorite musical theatre roles include Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show and Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, all at Missouri Street Theatre; Violet Newstead in 9 To 5, and her favorite character of all time, Snoopy, in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, both at Clayton Theatre Company. Sara Curtis (Ensemble) is excited to make her 6th Street debut with the cool island vibes of Margaritaville. Sara’s storied background includes Bachelors degrees in Theatre Arts and Vocal Performance from Chapman University, 7 years as an immersive storyteller at the Disneyland Resort, appearances on Disney’s Hyperion Stage, and a strong dislike of big cities. Some favorite local roles are Maid/Anticlea in The Penelopiad with Women’s Theatre Collective, Reggie Fluty in Solano Community Players’ The Laramie Project, and March Sisters Swing with Sonoma Arts Live. Sara is a teaching artist with Sandcastle Theater Company. She volunteers with Napa Bunnies Rabbit Rescue and is an avid birder and conservation advocate.

Andrea Thorpe

Andrea “Andee” Thorpe (Rachel) is ready to “escape” with 6th Street! Recently relocated from the Sacramento area, Andee had the honor of playing Bridget in the Velvet Grass cast of LIZZIE earlier this season as her Sonoma County debut. Previous roles have included Principal Mullins in School of Rock, Diana Goodman in Next to Normal, Grizabella in CATS, Fantine in Les Miserables, Penny in Urinetown, and Lady of the Lake in Spamalot. Andee fills her “spare time” as a change management consultant, helping employers help their teams adapt to change. Love and gratitude to her ever-supportive friends and family and her orange tabby, Miss Morgan.

Larry Williams (J.D./Co-Director) is pleased to be back at 6th Street Playhouse and thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and crew. He was last seen at 6th Street as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd. Larry’s latest role was Flan in Six Degrees of Separationat Sonoma Arts Live, with other recent forays in the theatrical world including Young Frankenstein, both as director and actor; Lend Me a Tenor; Guys and Dolls; Christmas Story the Musical; Dames at Sea; The 39 Steps; A Little Night Music; Tuck Everlasting; and Spamalot. Other 6th Street credits include The Producers; Annie; The Buddy Holly Story; and Illyria. Larry’s favorite roles include Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, and Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher.

Hannah Passanisi (Ensemble/Dance Captain) is excited to be making her debut at the Playhouse in the cast of Margaritaville! Hannah graduated from Santa Rosa High School, where she spent 4 years in the Art Quest theatre program and has performed across Sonoma County for the past 10 years. Her favorite roles and shows include Emma Nola in The Prom; Meg in Little Women; Guys n Dolls and Young Frankenstein with Sonoma Arts Live; Spamalot at Novato Theater Company; and Hello Dolly, Tuck Everlasting and Matilda at Spreckels. During the day Hannah enjoys working with children as an associate director at Backyard Kids Theater Company. She would like to thank her family and friends for their support!

Reilly Milton (Tammy) is a Latina actor based in the Bay Area. Margaritaville is her third production with 6th Street this season. She started it playing María in Four Guys Named José… and Una Mujer Named María. Since she graduated from SSU with a degree in theatre arts in 2021, she also worked at Left Edge Theatre Company. Maick Poroj (Jamal) is excited to perform at 6th Street again and to share the stage with such a great cast. You may have seen him portraying José Cubano in Four Guys Named José and Una Mujer Named María at the beginning of this season. Maick moved to Sonoma County to start his acting career. He is an Acting major at SSU where he debuted as Piragua Guy in In The Heights. Most recently he was the understudy of Cousin Julio in Mother F* With The Hat at Left Edge Theatre. Enjoy the show!

Anderson Templeton (Ensemble) has been acting in Sonoma County since the age of ten. Most recently Andy played The Deputy in Groundhog Day at 6th St Playhouse and John Brooke in Little Women the Musical at Sonoma Arts Live. His favorite roles have been: Charlie Brown in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown at Spreckels, Patchy the Pirate in SpongeBob the Musical at SRJC, The Knight of Ni and Killer Rabbit in Spamalot at Novato Theater Co, and Peter in Peter and the Starcatcher at Spreckels. Andy studied Theatre Arts and Education at SOU in Ashland.

Sergio Diaz (Brick) is a Mexican-American actor based in the Bay Area, bringing raw authenticity, charm, and a touch of rebellion to every role. You may have witnessed his charm when he played José Boriqua in 4 Guys here at 6th Street at the beginning of the season. He was also in last season’s Native Gardens. He recently played lovable Cousin Julio in MOFO at Left Edge Theatre. Trained under industry pros like ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’s’ Hal Masonburg, Adler Alum Vicki Goggin and Dan Shaner from USC, Sergio has honed his craft in both film and theater. In June he returns to the Jacobethan Theatre Workshop in HAMLET.

Chaila Richards (Ensemble) is excited to make her 6th Street Playhouse debut in Escape to Margaritaville. She recently performed in the ensemble in the Ravens Theater’s production Cinderella a Holiday Panto. She has also appeared as Mrs. Fezziwig in SRJC’s productions of A Christmas Carol and Mrs. Puff in SpongeBob the Musical. Chaila is new to acting but has sung and performed tap and jazz dance since childhood. She trained at Lane Community College in Oregon and SRJC, where her focus was on acting, music, and makeup design. Chaila enjoys learning new skills, crafting and spending quality time with her loved ones.
