Press Democrat – English Country Fair event raises nearly $300,000 for 6th Street Playhouse

More than 200 supporters gathered June 28 for the 6th Street Playhouse‘s annual “English Country Fair,” raising nearly $300,000 to support theater improvements and programming.
Held at the theater’s field in Santa Rosa, the picnic fundraiser was the second most successful in the playhouse’s history, surpassed only by the capital campaign to purchase its building, according to Executive Director Emily Cornelius.
The proceeds will fund improvements to the main lobby, expanded parking, outdoor performances, upgraded lighting and sound systems, youth education programs and rising operating costs while helping keep tickets affordable.
