Press Democrat – Jacobethan Theatre Workshop takes free Shakespeare series countywide with ‘Caesar’

Jacobethan Theatre Workshop will take its annual free “Shakespeare in the Park(ing Lot)” series on the road this summer, staging a modern adaptation of “Julius Caesar” at three Sonoma County venues during the Santa Rosa company’s first countywide tour.
The production, titled “Caesar,” opens July 31 at 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa, with a free preview performance July 30. After its Santa Rosa run, the show will continue at the Sonoma Community Center before concluding indoors at Life On Art in Petaluma.
The 95-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s political tragedy will be performed without intermission, continuing the company’s mission of bringing free, accessible theater to community-centered spaces.
